About Me

Hi there! I'm Tara. I'm from Omaha, Nebraska, and have been writing my entire life. After winning a writing contest in second grade, it has been "my thing" ever since.

After earning my bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Nebraska, I packed my bags for New York City where I landed my dream job working for a magazine publishing company, lending my skills to the research department for Modern Bride and American Baby Magazine.

From there, I spent some time in book publishing, Broadway show marketing and market research. I learned a ton — about life, about who I am and what I love to do — helping companies tell their story through compelling content and well-written stories.

After seven years in the Big Apple, I ended up moving back to Omaha and found a great job working for Union Pacific Railroad, where I played a major role in one of my favorite projects of my entire career — developing an online magazine named Track Record. 

​

The purpose of Track Record is to help spread the word about the benefits of using rail for freight transportation, and boy, did we ever! Within two years, the content we developed helped increase traffic to our site by nearly 300 percent and resulted in more than $3 million in new business wins in 2021.
